Our awesome friends at Local Motors are launching their next monthly-ish competition, the Chicago Motors Competition.
I, for one, consider Chicago a second home. So, I am anxious to see how designers interpret the city onto four gangster wheels.
Al Capone would be proud!
LM’s full contest release after the break.
The Challenge: Go on a journey with Local Motors’ “friend” Tom O. Rascoll, of Chicago. He will detail Chicago’s history of the Great Fire, Al Capone, music culture and share all that inspires him. But mostly, Tom is concerned with giving back to the city he loves. This is what Tom asks of the Local Motors’ community and competition:
“We need you to move forward in a way the OEM’s will not: bring jobs back to Chicago. Design a car for this city, a city with a rule-breaking history, a city of rebellious humanists with a gangster flare. We’re good-guy gangsters, and we know how to take care of our own. That’s what we want to do: we want to bring pride, jobs, fun and hot design back to Chicago automotive and Lake Shore Drive.
Design a car for Chicago that is hot and fast, but has room for 2-5 people. Create something for us to be proud of, and make it affordable. Make sure this car is usable in the sun and snow.”
