To follow up on the success of 2008 Young? Creative? Chevrolet!, Chevrolet is launching the third edition of this unique and creative programme on October 20, 2008 with the inclusion of a new discipline and with up to 19 countries now participating.
Young? Creative? Chevrolet! is a pan-European contest Chevrolet conducts annually for students of Applied Arts to foster young talents and offer them a new and exciting experience working on a professional brief.
In just 3 years, participation has grown dramatically from 8 to 19 countries.
The contest started in 2007 with a modest 8 participating countries, expanding to 15 in 2008. This year, the number of participating countries has increased to 19 countries across Europe: Austria, the Baltic States (Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia), Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Switzerland.
Music, the new and exciting discipline for the third edition, will allow more students to be involved in the contest. The objective for this discipline is to create a musical composition, which is fun, young and catchy, capturing Chevrolet brand image.
French DJ Bob Sinclar comments on Young? Creative? Chevrolet! Music launch for 2009:
“I encourage all students involved in the “Young? Creative? Chevrolet!” competition to free their mind and create great vibes! May the best win!”** On October 1, 2008 just before the launch of the Paris Motor Show, Chevrolet hosted an event to present two world premiere and two European premiere vehicles. At the event, the guests enjoyed a concert of the famous DJs Bob Sinclar and Christelle. Moreover, the youthful and creative atmosphere continued throughout the evening with various live activities involving students participating in the Young? Creative? Chevrolet! art competition.
Jason Piccioni, sound DJ for the Awards Ceremony 2008 in Turin, comments on the Music launch: “It is a breath of fresh air that Chevrolet has decided to include the art of musical composition in the programme for “Young? Creative? Chevrolet!” 2009. It is an innovative approach to allow a mostly subliminal medium such as audio to be credited and appreciated within a creative product placement context”.
