Local Motors Design Competition #2 Wraps Up

Sangho Kim, “deuxfov” to his peers, is a 6th term student at Art Center, one of the most prestigious design schools in the world.  Now he can add “$10,000 Design Prize Winner” to his resume, besting over 50 other design concepts in Local Motors’ second design competition, the “Miami Racer” contest.

Kim’s concept was arguably the best of the bunch, but there were several concepts that could have easily been selected.  This second competition was filled with many vehicles spreading across a wide range of ideas, from road racers, to convertibles, to cruisers, to super cars.  What sold Kim’s concept was his beautifully rendered design images, strong theme, and nailing the requirements for a Miami car.

LM is about to kick off their 3rd competition, which we will have more on shortly.  For now, congratulations to Sangho Kim and all of the entries in the competition.

Check out the “Miami Roadster” here.
