great questions, great answers. awesome interview! Really appreciate someone taking a risk with something risky and progressive, I hope LM will go far.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here, but I seriously doubt they will come close to their intended price point or fuel economy goals…while being at all competative with similarly priced vehicles at least. I appreciate the method and approach, but after looking at the work on their site, I’m not so sure there is anything that would make an attractive car in the real world. And let’s not forget that many designers can sketch, but few can actually execute in the design engineering and production stages. Without experience from professional sculptors, math modelers and designers, I fear that all their cars will feel very half-baked and unresolved. I only speak from experience, but in a profesional studio, the several years it takes to reach production are necassary to develop the form and surface to reach a relevant product. I think we could do things faster, but not as fast as this guy thinks…just wait, these cars are going to be cool only to the people who buy them…and whack as hell to 99.99% of the people out there. Just wait for the WTF? comments on the blogs. Now, if they start building cars that are super expensive and price is no concernm then maybe they will make some cool coach built cars…but doubtful.
