Renault Megane Coupe Concept

renault1

Renault has a great ability to design beautiful cars without all the fluff and unnecessary designer dodads. Mazda has been trying this whole Nagare (flow) theme and a lot of people think all the wavy lines are useless and have no function. Renault pulls off the fluid theme without all the BS. Here is another great Renault concept.

Exterior:

renault2

The lines on this car are bold, simple and to the point. The graphics on the car blend seamlessly with the body form. The hood form shows a sign of power that goes nicely with the energetic profile of this coupe/hatchback.

renault3

Finally this is a car without side vents, the BMW crease and dare I say retro styling?

renault4

The rear has an interesting look taken from supercars with large vents extracting hot air from??? Anyway it makes the car look performance oriented and untraditional.

Interior:

renault5

This is an interesting take on forms when dealing with a typical instrument panel and center console. Same basic sizes and shapes as current vehicles but the surfaces have been stretched and pulled to create positive and negative shapes. This makes some fresh hvac outlets.

renault6
The integration of the exterior/interior is pretty slick. Gloss surfaces blending into the seats is really clean, although I would hate to scuff it getting in/out. There is a great contrast between hard/soft and shiny/matte surfaces.

renault7

Renault is one of the main companies that I look forward to seeing what they come up with every year. Again I am impressed. Not as much as the past years, but this is still a really nice concept.
