V-dub is in da house. The iroc concept was one hot piece of ass. Now it is coming to the real world. Just not ours. There is no intention as of now to import the new Scirocco the the U.S. The good news is that this is a new design language for VW. No more Corolla like Jetta’s.
Will this new look transfer to the rest of the line?
The front end has a mix of fresh graphics and conflicting surfaces. The overall front has a laid back look but then has some menacing, forward leaning headlights. I understand the light catcher under the headlight connecting with the hood line, but is it really needed? They should have stayed with the Iroc front end.
The rear three quarter has a great look. The side rockers look a bit soft and mushy compared the front and rear. Again, the Iroc wins in these areas.
The Jetta/GTI IP carries over, but with new crisp bolstered seats. It is nice to see some contrast of color in a VW interior.
Overall this is a great transition from concept to production. VW wants to take on Toyota for world auto dominance. This is the kind of design and interior/vehicle quality that one needs to pull off that challenge. Please don’t let us down V-dub. We’re getting tired of vanilla.

Awesome looking seats, sweet door panel, BORING IP! Come on vDub! As for the exterior, well you can tell they’re never bringing it over here, they didn’t even bother fitting a US sized plate pocket on that front clip, not that I’m sold on that either, looks a little bit like a dog gritting its teeth (I don’t even know if that’s a good or bad thing!).
Agree with you on the IROC front end. What a missed opportunity; apparently a political move. Loving the quilted leather bucket seats though.
Is it still a VW if the logo isn’t in the grille? Maybe even just a tad lower so that it breaks up the grille graphic.
I suppose the graphic and stance is more lively than the Golf V, and that’s all we can ask for. Keep the flying C-pillar from the crazy W12 650 concept, please!
I was a little uneasy as well about the badge being on the hood. It just doesn’t look right.
