What Will the Future Hold?

doc

In developing new products you are constantly thinking, what is next? What will drive the next craze. For instance crossover’s right now are fueled by baby boomers wanting a easier vehicle to get in and out of, but still wanting the functionality of an suv. When the baby boomers (how do I make this sound right) stop being the influential buyers, what or who will span the next surge?

So this is just me ranting and I have no data to support this. It is an exciting time to predict what is going to happen over the next 20-50 years. With the digital age coming into play (we are only just beginning) we are already seeing how differently people work compared to their parents. The Boomers are all about their memories (Camaro, Hemi’s) of the good ‘ol days while Gen Y could care less and are waiting to see what is next. The new generation, whatever they are called, probably have a whole other idea of what a car will be when they are of age 20 years from now. I am sure they won’t think cars will run on gas. Maybe they will start flying like in the year 2000. uh, yeah, what happened to that whole idea? Feel free to chime in and offer up your thoughts on what big change if any will happen in the auto industry.

Something has to happen or we will all be broke and won’t be able to buy any more cars. Do you think we will still have any driving control over our cars in 20 years? Will Toyota be the only player in the future? Will we even own our own cars? These are all valid questions, so turn to your cube neighbor and stir up a conversation. After all, that is how this website got started, bull shitting on these kind of topics.

after a major global war, we will return to the days of the Flinstone mobile…

after our bodies are destroyed by the radiation, we will just roll everywhere, with no need for cars anymore.
