Another Hit from Ford

verve1

How could one brand have duplicates of its products range from the best to the worst in the market?

Ford NA, the new Focus, I won’t even post a pic of this waste of metal.

Ford Euro, the new Verve (Fiesta), could possibly be the next trend setter in compact cars. This car is hot and looks fresh, kind a like the future……

Photos can be misleading in a good or bad way, but since I will never see this car in person, this is all I have to go on. Small cars are becoming more popular than ever with the high gas prices, so i am glad to see the OEM’s taking the design of these usually forgotten vehicles seriously. Ford of Europe’s kinetic design language is looking better than ever. This next interpretation is no let down.

verve2

The Verves’ form is both fluid and dynamic with details not forgotten. The massive lower grill and shaped hood actually makes you want to believe this car has some serious power. The stretched headlights do a good job of visually lengthening the hood of this cab forward design.

verve3

The rear view starts to show the eighties future design of the jelly bean shapes, but with athletic surface breaks and bold details you don’t read the bland profile. This is a concept car so of course it won’t look this good when it hits the streets, but those Eurpeans do a good job of holding on to whatever they can.

This production Mazda 2 looks to be on the same platform and looks pretty good. So there is hope for the Verve (Fiesta) to come out of the gate very promising.

Compact car designs are becoming very exciting and I can see people losing that cheap car stereotype when these hit the streets. Mini has proven to us all that small does not have to mean cheap.
