Finishing up the M Coupe

Davide wanted me to point out that I masked off the car, ugly, but effective, he does it much prettier….
So, like every project, the M Coupe’s plans changed in the process…… mostly because I am going to Germany in August for quite some time, so instead of letting the Coupe sit in primer and come back from Germany with a car that is in shambles, I decided to buckle down and finish what I started.
1 commentFord Flexing already?
Caught this photo last week in the West Bloomfield area. No camo or anything, just trotting around like it has always been here. I only saw it for a minute or two but it was long enough for me to questions my thoughts about it. Really long, pretty low, very boxy and wide. Take a Scion xB and stretch it, mix in some land rover and maybe a little Mini with a pinch of FJ and that sums it up. I can’t say whether I like it or not. I will have to wait until more are on the road to pass judgement. There are some nice details though in the lights and I even like the faux billet aluminum on the rear hatch. It is interseting in the fact that it is a new proportion, but I think people will be on the fence about there opinions. For Ford’s sake I hope it goes well, it is a definite risk of a vehicle. I know a few people have seen them running around, so post your thoughts.
1 commentGorilla Design (Griffiti Research Lab)
I got into this whole design game after I got into graffiti. Much of what I do is inspired by what is going on with graf.
Sounds weird, and does not really fit with corporate America, but then again, that is why we started this blog to showcase new and exciting design concepts to our fellow car designers. This is an increasingly new trend in Graffiti….. Light projections…very interactive, and more about the moment, then the permenance… For everyone with a YouTube filter at work… take a looksee at home, it is worth it.
Or watch in player below.

Enjoy your new found freedom. Hope you like our excursions out of just car design……. keeping you well rounded is the key!
No commentsHelp Support Kidney Disease?!?!? ( design even applies to signs )
So, there I was in my moment of weakness, craving a chicken sangwich ( Dane Cook reference ) sitting in line
of a local area Detwa Wendy’s, (lets just say spicy chicken sangwich is my weakness)…
and what did I see??? Let me tell you with a picture, the stupidest shit…..
Help Support Kidney Disease…… now I don’t know about you, but I would rather fight Kidney Disease, then support it.
Just one of those little things that made me really wonder about Detwa’s education system. Well enjoy some one else’s mistake….
Fiat Releases the New 500: American Car Enthusiasts Weep

As an American consumer, I have come to the realization that we commonly get shafted on certain iconic vehicles released overseas: Alfa, Citroen, and now Fiat with their mighty mini-killer, the 500.
Now, I know I will get the traditional blog flaming (flog?) of readers telling me that the design of this vehicle is nothing new, and that it in fact appears pretty blandly designed. However, I would defend myself by asking if there have been any other recent automobiles with a near iphone-like buzz as the Fiat 500?
Accordingly, Fiat is on record as stating that they want to be the “Apple of the auto world” and that the 500 is their “iPod”. (I’m paraphrasing).
Let’s take a look at the vehicle, and see if this holds up.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! watch the video…..
It’s rare that we come across some great design videos on the web, but this one blew our mind.
Theo Jansen is a kinetic sculpture artist. And if you don’t know what that means, check out the video and take notes.

Mazda Speed 6 Spied……….or sumpthin. Mid-model update……
On my way home from work Friday, I saw this Mazda test mule traveling at high speeds and trying to avoid me on 275 south…
The speed 6 is in showrooms, but there was something different about this vehicle, note the wider body, and slightly higher ride height
What does Mazda have up their sleaves???????? Can anyone guess…………..
Too bad Mazda meenie, I got some pics and a short video. Looks to be an aggressive vehicle, and it did accelerate very fast…..
pics
More pics after the jump…
