Hometown Style

hhr1

Last week I was on vacation and took a road trip to a little town in Northeastern Pennsylvania where I grew up. The economy there is more blue collar trade jobs so people are a little simpler in their style and way of life. Living in Detroit all you see are brand new lease vehicles from the big 3. You can become pretty jaded as to what the rest of the country drives. So going this far east I was excited to see some interesting vehicles and down home customizing.

My my stop coming into town was to grab some pizza and wings at a local restaurant. Immediately I spot this parked next to me. Still a new vehicle from the big 3 but totally pimped out in anything to can find from Auto Zone. They did put some work into their accessories though. Check out the airplane hood ornament custom painted to match. Anyone know where that plane belongs?

You can’t have a country nascar fan without some sort of flames on the car, or on many parts of the car. How do you like the Chevy Bow Tie pin stripping and the retro chrome strips coming off the rear wheel well. That is by far the sweetest chrome exhaust tip ever.

It is always fun seeing how people live and their taste in other areas of the country. You designers should take some notes from this quality piece of work.
