Another year in the tank, another College for Creative Studies Student Show comes to pass. Evaluating an entire show spread across different disciplines on a growing campus can be exhausting… but it can also be quite rewarding.
Have a look in the Gallery.
While we will focus on more of the notable design efforts from the students, the show itself was very exciting and a joy to see the varied work from a plethora of talented artists.

I myself graduated from CCS a few short years ago (it always seems longer, doesn’t it?) and was highly pleased to travel around the buildings, enjoying the visuals and libations (liquor to you and I). So much to see, so little time.

One thing that we at CDf always make a point of is that we don’t knock down the efforts of students. We were in the same boat at one time, and know exactly what the next crop of designers is going through. What we can do is comment on how effective or not a particular work/process/idea is. And this year there was plenty to talk about.

Most notably, I was happy to see that the sketching — the very basic element of designing ideas — was coming along quite well. The students were exploring concepts very well, and showed tremendous promise in the actual design and ideation part of the process… the most important part.
Without being too long-winded, we’ve posted some photos in the Gallery. Have a look, comment, and enjoy.
Special thanks to CCS for letting us enjoy the show this year.
