The next Ford savior?

fairlane

Word is out that a version of the Ford Fairlane concept from 2005 is about to be production ready. Named the Ford Flex (keeping with the “F” theme) this new crossover will be marketed towards minivan hatin’ moms. Supposedly this will be a fresh alternative to other suv’s and crossover’s. I guess we will wait and see. Some sort of news will come out at the New York Auto Show in a couple of weeks. Ford hasn’t said if they will unveil the vehicle or just keep talking about it.

Design wise, I am not too excited about it. I was interested in seeing the new Ford Edge on the road and for me it has been kind of disappointing. For Ford, it is a great proportion and clean aesthetic to “start with”, but there is a lack of detail in the exterior trim. This vehicle is looking to be in the same direction. I am hoping this new Flex will dig a little deeper in the design details.

Lets hope for the best, Ford needs it.
