A Love That Dare Not Speak Its Name

Ahh, the Lincoln MKR. My pick for the hottest concept at the NAIAS.

Wait, what? A LINCOLN?! WTF?

Yes, after seeing all the vehicles at the show this was probably the one that caught my eye the least.

Well, in terms of recent Ford design trends (Focus, anyone?) this car was the cleanest, sexiest Ford at the show. More importantly, it was such a simple design, a definite “Why The Hell Not?” should be said when the production question is asked.

Clean lines, retrosexy grille, and a post-modern interior make this my pick for the “First Ford I Would Ever Drive” category. Even the color combination is simple yet effective.

In essence, what makes this more compelling is the effect it has on the rest of Ford’s design world. They’ve produce one HAWT car; not the onus is on them to design more. The Interceptor was okay, the Edge is startin’ sumfin, and now it’s time for Ford to really kick up it’s heels and start producin’.
